Tempo NC-500 NETcat Pro 2 STP/UTP Coax Wiring Tester w/ TDR
The Tempo Communications NC-500 NETcat® Pro 2 Structured Wiring Troubleshooter is used for one-touch network cable and service verification. This digital tool provides fast, accurate checking of cables, wiring and network service. It tests wiring continuity and proper pair allocation, measures cable length and determines if network service is available. It detects PoE and up to gigabit Ethernet. Pulsed TDR shows up to 2,000' length of all pairs.
The NC-500 tester comes with stylus and remote. The 7.2-ounce unit is 3.3" x 1.4" x 6.7". One-year warranty.
The Tempo NC-500 NETcat® Pro2 tests shielded twisted-pair (STP), unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) and coax cables, plus identifies active network devices (PC or hub) on 10/100/1000 BASE-T Ethernet (802.3) networks. The unit displays network device capabilities, performs patch cable and remote jack wire-map, detects shorts, opens, reversed, crossed and split pairs. Pulsed TDR shows 0- to 2000-foot length of all pairs. The tester also identifies PoE (source device detection). It offers a field replaceable "F" type connector and Memo Pad/reminder feature - stored in non-volatile memory.
A graphical touch-screen display has contrast adjustment and backlight. The tester generates four distinct, precision tones for tracing low-loss cables like CAT 5. Perform office identification plus remote jack ID and verification. When used with the optional NC-510 accessory kit's remote ID units, you can test eight coax or twisted-pair jacks at a time from a central location. The NC-500 operates on a 9-V alkaline battery.
