Starrett 98-8 Precision Level with Cross Test Vial, 8''

The Starrett 98-8 Machinists Level with Ground and Graduated Vial includes a cross test vial, adjustable to a positive setting. It is housed in a satin chrome finished brass tube with a friction-fit closing cover to prevent breakage. The base of the level features an involute groove running the length of the base, which provides a reliable seat for round work such as pipes or shafting. The cross-test vial allows simultaneous levelling in both directions and prevents inaccuracies in the main vial reading caused by canting the level sidewise on round work.

The vial graduations are approximately 80-90 seconds or .005" / foot (0.42 mm / meter). There are six lines on each side of the bubble. The tool length: 8" (200 mm).
