AFL CKM2 Multimode Fiber Optic Test Kit

The AFL CMK-2 is a cost-effective Contractor Series Multimode Optical Loss Test Set combining the CSS1-MM dual LED light source and CSM1-2 power meter. The light source features 850- and 1300-nm LED output from a single output port. The power meter operates at 850, 1300, 1310 and 1550 nm. 

This fiber test kit includes  2.5-mm universal adapter cap, 50- and 62.5-µm mandrels, four AA alkaline batteries and user's guide in a soft carrying case. The 3.2-pound kit measures 13.25" x 9" x 4.25". One-year warranty. Patch cords not included.

The CMK 2 Contractor Series Multimode Test Kit combines the CSS1-MM dual LED light source and CSM1-2 optical power meter into one package. The durable and lightweight test tools within the kit are designed to perform insertion loss measurements on multimode fiber optic links. The CSS1-MM and CSM1-2 in particular feature reference power level storage, long battery life, automatic power-off function and battery gauge. Additionally, both units are compact, convenient for field use, and fully N.I.S.T. traceable.

The CSS1-MM light source features 850 and 1300-nm LED output from a single output port and offers continuous wave (CW) and user-selectable modulated tone for modes of operation. This device comes equipped with an fixed SC connector and an LED output that is stabilized to conform to current TIA/EIA requirements and ensure accurate test results. The CSS1-MM also sports a large, easy-to-read backlit LCD screen which shows emitted wavelengths (nm), tone frequency (Hz) and low-battery condition.

The CSM1-2 optical power meter features 270, 330, 1000 and 2000-Hz test tone detection for fiber identification and can operate at wavelengths of 850, 1300, 1310 and 1550 nm. For each calibrated wavelength, the CSM1-2 can store optical references for future reference. This device also sports an easy-to-read backlit LCD display which shows measured power (dBm or µW) or insertion loss (dB), calibrated wavelengths, tone frequency (Hz), and low-battery condition.
