AFL OFI-400C Optical Fiber Identifier, 2mm or 3mm Jacket
The AFL OFI-400C Optical Fiber Identifier is for use to detect signals transmitted through single mode fibers without disrupting traffic. This tester works on 250µm & 900µm, 2mm & 3mm jacketed single mode fibers making it ideal for general purpose maintenance, configuration and installation tasks. It creates a macro-bend which safely permits a small amount of light to escape without affecting the process to detect and measures core power levels of optical signals. Technical personnel are able to identify a specific fiber without risk of accidental disruption of revenue service.
This live fiber detector features a 2-position plunger that does not require swapping or adjustment when working with different fiber types. A backlit LCD allows this device to be used in dim lit spaces.
The AFL (Noyes) OFI-400C fiber identifier comes with 2-AAA batteries, user's guide and soft carry case. It is designed to be energy efficient and can make thousands of fiber tests before needing battery replacement. Weighs 6-ounces and measures 8.5" x 1.5" x 1.1". Five year product warranty through AFL. Three year recommended calibration interval.
