AFL MLP4-2D Multimode Fiber Optic Test Kit, ST
The AFL MLP4-2D Complete ST Multimode Optical Loss Test Set, with Wave ID and Set Reference, features the OPM4-2D optical power meter, OLS1-2 LED optical light source and ST adapter cap. Used during installation, maintenance or repair, the MLP 4-2 performs end-to-end loss measurements on multimode fiber at 850 and 1300 nm as well as singlemode fiber at 1300 nm. The auto zero feature stores reference values at each wavelength for direct loss readings in dB.
This fiber optic loss test kit includes an optical light source, optical power meter, AA batteries, protective rubber boots, adapter cap, 50 and 62.5um mandrels, user's guide, and carry case. It weighs 1.7 pounds and measures 8.5" x 8" x 3.5". One-year warranty.
Compact and easy-to-use Model OPM4-2D is a full-featured palm-sized optical power meter that provide years of accurate measurements. It is calibrated at 850, 1300, 1310 and 1550 nm for testing LAN, FDDI, Ethernet, Token Ring and singlemode fiber systems such as telco, WAN and CATV. Front panel keys turn the meter on and off, switch between power (dBm) and loss (dB) modes, view/set reference and change the measurement wavelength. A reference value can be set for each wavelength and is saved in memory. Turning the OPM4-2D on and off, changing wavelengths, switching between dBm and dB and even replacing the battery do not affect stored references. Specifications include: Germanium detector and +6 to -60 dBm measurement range.
The OLS1-2 is an LED optical light source designed for loss testing on multimode fibers. It offers reliable testing at 850 or 1300 nm for use on LAN, WAN and campus-type environments, Ethernet, Token Ring and FDDI systems. Also use 1300-nm output to test short-distance singlemode fiber links up to 20 km. Specifications include: 40/100-nm spectral width, 850 and 1300 wavelengths, -20/-20 dBm output power and 62.5/125-µm fiber size.
