What is an MPO Connector?
Multi-fiber Push On connectors, or MPOs for short, are fiber connectors comprised of multiple optical fibers. While defined as an array connector having more than 2 fibers, MPO connectors are typically available with 8, 12 or 24 fibers for common data center and LAN applications. They provide many advantages to high-speed network operators and installation companies. The Multiple Fiber Push-on/Pull-off innovative technology is effectively used for high-speed data transmission such as 10G, 40G, 100G or 400G network connections.
What is the difference between MPO and MTP?
MPO is a fiber connector type, while MTP is a brand of MPO-style connector trademarked by US Conec. The MTP® connector is a high-performance MPO connector engineered for better mechanical and optical performance. It is fully compliant with MPO intermateability standards.

Why use MPO cable?
MPO cables, composed of pre-terminated fibers with standardized MPO connectors, are widely used for high-density cabling in data centers.
